what I did
This documentary was created as a non-profit student project for Krakow Film School (KSF). The film was produced as part of an academic assignment, focusing on observational storytelling and authentic human–animal relationships. I was responsible for cinematography (DOP), lighting, and color grading, overseeing the visual language of the film from production through post-production, with an emphasis on natural light, realism, and emotional restraint.
PROJECT / SUMMARY
During a routine mission on a distant planet, the crew of a spacecraft encounters a strange creature. Initially identified as just another alien animal, it soon reveals itself to be something far beyond anyone’s expectations. Inspired by Philip K. Dick’s first short story “Beyond Lies the Wub”, this film explores perception, intelligence, and the thin boundary between the familiar and the unknown. The project was created in collaboration with Wojciech Makara as a final assignment at the Krakow Film School (KSF).
